To appreciate the crew’s hard work, Carrey organised a raffle, for which the grand prize was a Chevy Blazer RS. The car which is worth approximately 40,000 dollars went to a crew member who worked as a grip on the sets of the film.

Sources close to TMZ revealed, “sources tell TMZ … Jim has been up in Vancouver shooting ‘Sonic 2’ and he wanted to do something fun for the crew and show his thanks for their hard work, so he held a raffle … and the grand prize was a Chevy Blazer RS.” The winner was picked on Friday (May 7) morning.

Talking about the film, Carrey will return as the evil Dr. Robotnik for the sequel. In the first part of the movie, the actor’s character had an intent to capture Sonic, and exploit the blue anthropomorphic hedgehog’s abilities for his personal gains. When he failed to do so, Robotnik was expelled from Earth.

Robotnik will return in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with the same intent to catch Sonic. The film also stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz and Tika Sumpter. Directed by Jeff Fowler and written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the sequel is set to hit the theatres in April 2022.

The first part of the film had released shortly before COVID-19 forced theatres around the world to shut down. The film became a huge hit, and minted over $300 million worldwide. Sonic’s CGI design was applauded by everyone to an extent that the makers decided to make the sequel of the film. The movie is based on the video game by Sega that first arrived in 1991.
