We all see an all-new character voiced by Rita Ora

Our favourite panda is coming back! Netflix is bringing back the much-loved Po for an all-new series called the Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight. Of course, voicing the iconic Panda will be Jack Black, who’s been with the character since the 2008 movie, and its sequels in 2011 and 2016.

The first season of the series will be spread across 11 episodes and will see Po meeting Wandering Blade (Rita Ora) on a journey to save the world from being destroyed by a pair of weasels.

Here’s what the official synopsis says:

“When a mysterious pair of weasels set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons, Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade voiced by Rita Ora. Together, these two mismatched warriors set out on an epic adventure to find the magical weapons first and save the world from destruction.”

Apart from Jack Black and Rita Ora in the lead, the cast of the series includes Della Saba as Veruca Dumont, Chris Geere as Klaus Dumont, Rahnuma Panthaky as Rukhmini, Ed Weeks as Colin, and Amy Hill as Pei Pei.

This will be the third Kung Fu Panda series and ninth spin-off in total, if we’re counting the original trilogy, along with four short films and a holiday special. Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight will premiere on July 14th, 2022, on Netflix.
