Ranbir Kapoor Opens Up About His Character In Animal
After A Dacoit, Ranbir Kapoor Will Be Seen Essaying This Role In ‘Animal’

The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol in key roles

Ranbir Kapoor is back in action with Shamshera finally releasing in theatres. The film is getting mixed reviews from fans, who are, at least, happy to see Kapoor return to the screen after four years. While the film is still running in theatres, the actor has now shifted his focus to the next project. He has flown down to Delhi to shoot for Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s directorial Animal.

Kapoor is making sure that he makes up for his absence and is not leaving any stone unturned to promote his film. He opened up about his character in the film and revealed that he will be essaying the role of a merciless gangster. Talking about his co-star, Anil Kapoor, Ranbir added that the veteran star will be seen playing his domineering father. Interestingly, this would be the first grey character that Ranbir will be essaying.

Ranbir went on to talk about how he was stunned to hear the script, adding that this character is the most shocking role that he has ever taken up. Explaining how he is scared to get into the character, the actor added, “It is a great opportunity for me as an actor. No one expects me to do such a role. I hope the audience is ready for that film from me.”

Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in a bulked-up avatar in Animal. The actor trained rigorously in April to bulk up for the film. RK said that he understand that the physical transformation was the key to nailing the character. “The physicality adds to the character’s menacing ways in terms of visuals. I have put on a lot of muscle,” he added. Animal also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol in key roles.

Apart from this, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. The film stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni in key roles. The film will arrive in theatres on September 11. He also has Luv Ranjan’s untitled romantic-comedy-drama alongside Shraddha Kapoor.
