Andaz Apna Apna starring Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon, might have been a flop at the box office, but it gained a special place in the audience’s heart. The film is considered a cult classic, and looking back at her role in the film, Tandon recently opened up about how she regrets doing this one thing for her character in the film.

Talking to Miss Malini, Tandon revealed that she regrets the fact that she had permed her hair for her character in the film.  She said, “Permed hair should just definitely remain in the 90s. I regret… Now when I look at myself and I see this hair, I am like, ‘Thank God,’ because, at that time, we had all that overtly curly hair. If you see Andaz Apna Apna, it looks like a wig. That’s actually not a wig, it’s my own hair that is permed. I am like, ‘How could I ever have done that ghastly thing?’”

Apart from this, the actress also opened up about becoming a mom at the age of 21. She had adopted two girls – Pooja and Chhaya at that time. The two are moms now, making Tandon a nani at the age of 46. “Technically, the minute that word comes, people think you’re 70-80 years old. When I had taken in my girls I was 21, and my eldest was 11. We actually just have an 11-year gap between us,” added the actress.

She further added, “She’s had her baby, so she’s more like a friend, but technically, I am a mom-like figure to her in her life. That’s what equates to being a grandmom, so that’s how it is.”

She also spoke about how society perceived adoption at the time she did it and said, “Some people wondered what would happen to the two children once I got married. They said no one would marry me as I came with excess baggage. But I said I come in a package deal: my children, my dogs and me. Take it or leave it. Fortunately, my husband and in-laws dote on the girls.” Raveena Tandon has daughter Rasha and son Ranbirvardhan with husband Anil Thadani.
