When it comes to star kids, often we talk about nepotism, where the children or relatives of Bollywood actors are seen getting better opportunities and movie roles than the outsiders. Having said that, there’s also a league of non-actor star kids. From the younger, millennial section, we have quite a few popular names. Even from the slightly older crew, there are many sisters, brothers, and cousins who have walked right past the lights, camera, and action. Here are a few star kids who have opted for a career beyond acting and have stayed away from the limelight.

Shaheen Bhatt

Shaheen Bhatt is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, and Alia Bhatt’s elder sister. Previously, she worked as an assistant director for Raaz 3: The Third Dimension, and was one of the screenwriters in Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar. In 2018, she published her book I’ve Never Been (Un)Happier where she talked about her battle with depression since the age of 12.

Rhea Kapoor

Being born to Anil Kapoor comes with its own set of expectations and pressures. While her siblings Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Harshvardhan Kapoor chose acting as a preferred profession, Rhea Kapoor opted to stay behind the camera as a producer. She has worked as a producer in Aisha, Khoobsurat, and Veere Di Wedding. The middle child of the Kapoor siblings is also a stylist who co-owns the high-street fashion brand Rheson with her sister Sonam.

Rahul Bhatt

Rahul Bhatt, son of Mahesh Bhatt and younger brother of Pooja Bhatt is a renowned celebrity fitness coach. He is also the man behind Aamir Khan’s unbelievable transformation as Mahavir Singh Phogat in Dangal. He is also a former Bigg Boss contestant who joined the fourth season of the show in 2010.

Krishna Shroff

Jackie Shroff’s daughter and Tiger Shroff’s sister, Krishna prefers promoting action in real life. In 2018, she launched MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) Matrix gym in Mumbai; and also in Bareilly in the following year, with an aim to promote MMA and functional training across India. Although she’s worked as an assistant director in Munna Michael, as far as acting is concerned, she reportedly said: “When it comes to acting, I have always been very clear from the beginning that it’s not something that intrigues me. I am not the one to face the camera”.

Anshula Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor’s sister Anshula has worked with Google as a representative for AdWords, and as an Operations Manager with Hrithik Roshan’s sports brand, HRX. She is also the founder of Fankind, an online celebrity fundraising platform that allows fans to interact with their favourite celebrities. The funds raised go to charity.

Shweta Bachchan-Nanda

Shweta Bachchan-Nanda is the daughter of Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Unlike her brother Abhishek Bachchan and sister-in-law Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, she chose to make a career outside the film industry. She is an author, a fashion icon, and a successful businesswoman. Shweta Bachchan-Nanda also published her debut novel, Paradise Towers.

Alanna Panday

Ananya Panday’s cousin and daughter of Deanne Panday and Chikki Panday (brother of actor Chunky Panday, Alanna is living in LA and is an digital creator. Not only has she left the country with her job prospects, she too has mentioned that she does not see herself becoming an actor anytime soon. She lives in with her finance, Ivor.
