Adipurush Starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan Gets Postponed; Here’s Why

Adipurush is based on Ramayana. While Prabhas will play the role of Lord Ram, Saif Ali Khan will be essaying the role of Ravana

The wait for Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming film, Adipurush, gets a bit longer. The film was supposed to release on August 11th, 2022, but now it has been pushed to 2023. Helmed by Om Raut of Tanhaji fame, the pan-India project will now hit the big screens as an epic 3D action flick on January 12th, 2023.

Here’s why Adipurush has been delayed

The makers of Adipurush have decided to postpone the release to avoid a clash with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. Aamir Khan Productions thanked the Adipurush team for allowing them to release their film on the same date. In a statement released by the team, it says, “This is to announce that our film, Laal Singh Chaddha, will not be releasing on April 14th as planned. This is because we are unable to complete the film in time. The film will now be releasing on Aug 11th, 2022 in theatres worldwide. We would like to thank Mr Bhushan Kumar, T Series and Om Raut and the entire team of Adipurush from the bottom of our hearts. We would like to thank them for being so helpful and understanding, and for shifting the release date of their much-awaited, Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, so that Laal Singh Chaddha can come on Aug 11th, 2022.”
