According to recent reports, Salman Khan’s docu-series Beyond the Star has gotten a release date of December 27, 2022. The narrative sheds light on the life of the controversial superstar, and his journey so far. On the upside, fans can now expect to get a peek into Sallu bhai for what he really is — with layers of superstardom peeled, revealing the lesser-known sides of his personality. The series has been a subject of discussion for a while now, with the offering awaiting a release date. However, now that the date is finally out, fans can heave a sigh of relief.

While the docu-series is pegged as an OTT undertaking, speculations are rife that Netflix is likely to amass streaming rights of the same. However, there are no official confirmations as yet. Expect the show to offer insights from his personal staff, as well.

If things pan out just as it has been speculated, the documentary’s release will clash with the Dabangg star’s birthday. In an interview, the actor said, “My docu-series is titled ‘Beyond the Star’. Lulia (Vantur) had thought of it and I felt it was a good concept. Whoever I have worked with, staff, friends, co-stars, directors, and producers will talk about how I was earlier and how I am now. Everyone has come in to talk, people have come and spoken honest things, people who didn’t like things have also spoken and those who liked have also spoken. So the entire journey has been in a way captured. It is as honest (as possible). And it is fun.” 

He further added, “She narrated it to Andre (Timmins, Wiz Films) and he took it to Applause Entertainment and they finalized this. It is a very good project.” 

Viraf Sarkari has been roped in to don the directorial hat, and several industry insiders will reportedly be a part of the film, including Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Sooraj Barjatya, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Himesh Reshammiya.  

Some time ago, a clip from the docu-series featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Varun Dhawan had gotten leaked. The actors were seen discussing their bond with the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor, and what makes him one of India’s most loved stars.
