Spiderhead was released on June 17th on Netflix.

While Top Gun: Maverick is still having a successful run at the box office, the film’s director, Joseph Kosinski has already presented the audience with another mind-gripping film. Spiderhead starring Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett premiered on Netflix on June 17th, and people have not stopped raving about the film. 

 

The Netflix original official stars Hemsworth as a brilliant visionary, Steve Abnesti, who runs a state-of-the-art penitentiary. At the penitentiary, inmates wear a surgically attached device that administers dosages of mind-altering drugs in exchange for commuted sentences. Things go haywire when two subjects, Jeff (Teller) and Lizzy (Smollett) form a connection and their path to redemption takes a crazy turn, as Abnesti’s experiments start to push the limits of free will altogether.

The trailer puzzled fans which was a great pull for them to watch the movie. They were not disappointed as the Netflix flick impressed with the story and casting. The film is a must-watch. Hemsworth nailed the complex role in the most convincing manner.

The Netflix film is based on George Saunders’s best-selling short story Escape From Spiderhead, which first appeared in The New Yorker in 2010. The film also stars BeBe Bettencourt, Tess Haubrich and others in pivotal roles.
