The Most WTF Scenes (And Songs) From The Golmaal Series
The Most WTF Scenes (And Songs) From The Golmaal Series

If you like to watch quality cinema, watch the original Golmaal starring Amol Palekar.

Despite being panned critically, Golmaal Again is raking in big money at the box office. It’s probably Rohit Shetty’s magic who has combined a group of actors (who’ve been consistently delivering flops) to deliver a blockbuster. Yet, as sane cinegoers, we’ve never been Golmaal (not the one starring Amol Palekar, that one is a gem) fans. But yeah, some scenes come in handy when we need to rant about some WTF stuff with our friends. Let’s take a look at a few of them.

Paresh Rawal romances his lady love in a song that is a throwback to the black and white era. Unfortunately, the song is interspersed with colour scenes of the Golmaal gang giving Paresh some advice. If you want people to leave your house, then you should play this song. On the other hand, if people are adequately intoxicated, they might laugh their guts out.

Ajay Devgn lists almost his entire filmography in this dialogue where he is bringing his overacting A-game on. Watch out for the line where he says, “Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, kyunki Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Lekin tumharee iss Deewangee ne, iss Dilwale ko Diljale samjha.”

Vrajesh Hirjee is a fine actor, but after seeing this scene, you’ll stay 20 kms from a theatre which is playing a movie with him in the star cast. This scene alone is potent enough to make you leave your seats with a major sour taste in your mouth. You can show this to your friends, but you’ll be risking your friendship.

Any scene featuring Tushhar Kapoor in the Golmaal series, is WTF! It’s probably his only hit role, but that’s probably because people have this inexplicable desire to see an idiot and laugh.

AC/DC fans should lawsuit against Kunal Khemmu for wearing such a T-shirt in such a bad song. It’s supposed to be a celebratory song, but somewhere the music gods must be mourning the death of melody when this sorry excuse for a track was getting made. Also, there are enough colours in the frame to make you wish that you were colourblind.
