Five Elite Managers Who'll Be Available This Summer

We look at five such managers who will be on the lookout for the new gigs.

Much to the pleasure of football clubs that are looking to start afresh, there's no dearth of top-class managers who will be available to work after the current season ends. Given the capriciousness of elite football, you never know how many more will join this list, by the time next season starts.

Xavi

Xavi took over as the head coach of Barcelona in November 2021, and during his tenure, he has implemented a more possession-based style of play reminiscent of the club's glory days under Pep Guardiola. Despite facing challenges such as a lack of depth in the squad and injuries to key players, Xavi managed to guide Barcelona to a second-place finish in La Liga in the 2021-2022 season. However, with disagreements with the club's board over transfer policy and a desire for more control over team decisions, Xavi has decided to resign at the end of the season.

Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has been the manager of Liverpool since October 2015, and over his tenure, he has transformed the club into one of the most successful teams in Europe. Klopp led Liverpool to their first Premier League title in 30 years in the 2019-2020 season and followed it up with a Champions League triumph in 2021. However, Klopp has cited burnout and a desire to take a break from coaching as the reasons for his resignation at the end of the season.

Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel became the head coach of Chelsea in January 2021, and under his guidance, the team won the Champions League in his first season in charge. Tuchel also led Chelsea to an FA Cup triumph and a fourth-place finish in the Premier League in the 2020-2021 season. However, Tuchel has clashed with the club's hierarchy over transfer targets and has decided to resign at the end of the season in search of a new challenge.

Graham Potter

Graham Potter's unfortunate stint at Chelsea shouldn't let you fool you. He is still a top-class manager with a solid reputation for developing young talents and taking smaller clubs to greater heights. In 2019, Potter was appointed as the manager of Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. He has continued to implement his progressive style of play, emphasizing possession-based football and fluid attacking movements. While Brighton has faced challenges in the highly competitive league, Potter's tactical approach and emphasis on player development bode well for the club's future success.

Jose Mourinho

Perhaps the game has advanced beyond the reach of Jose Mourinho, but clubs can still bank on his experience and serial-winning ability. Known for his charismatic personality and outspoken nature, Mourinho's managerial career has not been without its controversies and clashes with players and officials. However, his winning mentality and tactical acumen have earned him respect and admiration from football fans worldwide.
