The Championship playoff final is the most-watched club football game in the world. It may come as a surprise, but it’s reality. Twenty-four teams try to compete across 46 games each, only for an opportunity to play in the coveted English Premier League. The top two teams from the championship automatically qualify for the premier league. However, the teams finishing from third place to sixth place have to go through the playoff round. Only one out of those four teams will get a chance to play in the Premier League.

This year as well, Norwich City and Watford have qualified for the Premier League after finishing the automatic qualifying spots. While, the four teams that have to play the playoffs are Brentford (Third Place), Swansea (Fourth), Barnsley (Fifth), Bournemouth (Sixth). The semi-finals of the playoffs are now complete, and we have our two teams for this season who will play the championship final. Brentford beat Bournemouth in a riveting clash played between them over the two legs, where Brentford outplayed the latter with a fantastic comeback in the second leg. While, in the other clash, Swansea and Barnsley played out a closely-contested game, in which the former came out on top. The details of the Championship playoff final are given below:
