Cricket Bet India looked into how much IPL cricketers could be getting paid based on the going rate for advertising on Instagram. According to their report, Indian skipper and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli is unsurprisingly the highest paid Indian cricketer. Kohli was named most valuable cricketer in the world, and earned almost £20,000,000 over the past year, with a massive £18,000,000 in endorsements and £2,000,000 in salary.

Kohli has a massive Instagram following of 80.2 million, so every post from his account comes at a good price. According to the report, Kohli could be earning up to £250,000 every time he posts on Instagram.

Kohli has tie-ups with brands like Puma, Wrogn, Scentials and Play MPL among others. For each brand post he uploads, he could be receiving £246,064 (image) or £370,334 (video).

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni sits at second place, reportedly earning £93,289 per post and £140,404 for each video posted to promote brands such as Panerai and Sound Logic.

Third place goes to Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma (£49,082 per post and £73,871 per video), followed by Hardik Pandya from the same team (£42,581 per post and £64,087 per video). The fifth place went to CSK’s Suresh Raina with £39,981 per post and £60,173 per sponsored video.
