Virat Kohli Asks For Privacy After Fan Barges Into The Cricketer's Hotel Room
Virat Kohli Calls Out ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ After Unauthorised Video Of Hotel Room Surfaces Online

The video seemed to be shot when Kohli was in action for India in T20 World Cup 2022

Virat Kohli has posted a rather furious message on Instagram after a short clip of his hotel room in Perth surfaced online. Kohli slammed an unknown culprit for breaching his personal space. The video appears to be shot when Kohli was in action for India’s Super 12 game against South Africa in T20 World Cup 2022.

“I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favorite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy,” wrote Kohli, who is currently India’s leading run-getter at the ongoing World Cup.

He didn’t mince words and asked the fans to stop treating him as a commodity for entertainment. “If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy,” he added.

It looks like someone from the hotel management was involved, as fans won’t otherwise have access to his room. Kohli has always been more than eager to pose with the fans, but this is a clear breach of his privacy. In the IPL 2022 earlier this year, Kohli didn’t disappoint a volley fans who invaded the pitch and posed with them. But, this time around, things went a bit too far.

This is not the first instance where Kohli’s privacy has been compromised. Earlier this year, a photographer clicked him and his wife Anushka Sharma on their balcony and circulated the picture online, much to the annoyance of the couple.

“Despite requesting the said photographer and the publication, they still continue to invade our privacy. Guys! Stop this right now!” Anushka wrote on Instagram.

As far as cricket is concerned, Kohli is in a great rhythm, having started his campaign with back-to-back half-centuries. Against Pakistan in the opening clash, Kohli stood tall while the rest of the batters oscillated between the ground and the pavilion. Kohli started off on a great note against South Africa, hitting two glorious boundaries early in the innings, but then succumbed to a back-of-the-length ball.
