Lollapalooza India 2024 currently stands as the unofficial flagship music festival of the country, having attracted a crowd of a whopping 60,000 in its inaugural year in India. However, this year’s festival, brought back with a bang by BookMyShow Live, a live entertainment experiential division of BookMyShow (the festival’s co-producer and promoter), promises to elevate the excitement level a notch higher. Here’s how:

A Stalworth International Lineup

There’s no hiding behind the fact that the second iteration of the festival, keeping in tone with last year, has brought in a slew of famous names to Mumbai, with the highlight being the return of Sting, who came to India back in the 80s with his band ‘The Police’. Partnering with him for the festival are other famous names including – The Jonas Brothers (performing exclusively in Asia), OneRepublic, Halsey, The Rose, Keane, Lauv and more. 

Equal Focus On Indian Artists

But apart from the international artists grabbing both domestic and international headlines, Lollapalooza and BookMyShow have also emphasised the importance of Indian artists on the lineup, with curated performances from the likes of Anoushka Shankar, The Karan Kanchan Experience, Parvaaz, Prabh Deep, Dualist Inquiry, Komorebi, Parekh & Singh, Skrat, Kamakshi Khanna and more. 

Access To All

According to a statement from its Indian partner, BMS, Lollapalooza India 2024 aims to provide an all-inclusive experience. Sign Language Interpreters will interpret music for headlining artists at the main Budweiser BudX stage and the Walkers & Co stage. Hearing-impaired attendees will receive assistance in finding designated riser areas. To address anxiety or panic attacks, trained counsellors are available in a dedicated safe space. Quick Response Teams are also on hand to offer on-ground assistance, focusing on psychological safety and inclusivity for all community members. The festival emphasizes sexual assault prevention, inclusivity, and mental health.

Apart From The Music

Between sets, festivalgoers can enjoy attractions like the Lolla Ferris Wheel by Budweiser, providing a 360-degree view of the festival. Engaging games and swings, including Cat Rack, Hoop Shot, Buzzwire, Dino Squad, Basketball, Lobster Pot, Ring Toss, and a print-your-own cookie booth, add extra fun to the experience. For those seeking relaxation, the Big Top & Small Top tents offer plush greens, quirky decor, snacks, and a perfect spot to unwind before the next performance.

After Parties 

Cap off the iconic two-day Lollapalooza India 2024 with post-festival gigs in Mumbai and Bengaluru, featuring global talents Daphni (aka Caribou), Malaa, and Chloe Robinson at AntiSocial, Mumbai, and Sunburn Union, Bengaluru. These events, along with the exciting pre-parties across multiple cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Goa, feature artists like Spacejams, Potter, Kampai, Starboy Nation, Felix, Dotdat, and more.
