In the middle of a global pandemic scare, Switzerland is illuminating Matterhorn peak every night to send messages of hope and positivity to the world. This initiative was started by southern municipality of
Zermatt in Switzerland to show support for those suffering due to the pandemic. It also aims to celebrate those on the frontlines battling the disease.
Few messages such as ‘Hope’, ‘Solidarity’, ‘StayHome’, ‘Allofus’, ‘Thankyou’ and images of a candle or a red heart portrayed shows support for people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Created by the light artist, Gerry Hofstetter, these visuals are visible on the Alpine peak every night from sunset to 11 PM. These broadcasts are truly magnificent and have captured netizens attention worldwide.
