What’s keeping you busy these days?

I’ve been practicing, as the Asian Tour has been on a short sabbatical. Next, I will travel to Mauritius to compete at the AfrAsia Cup.

Your biggest achievement?

Being the youngest golfer to be conferred the Arjuna Award.

And your biggest regret?

Rushing back to play post my wrist injury in 2014. In hindsight, I should have recovered 100 per cent before I started playing again.

What is the one skill every man should have?

Knowing how to drive.

What is the one thing you always desire?

More than desire, I aspire to be a better human being and a good role model for others to follow.

What are you always searching for?

Ways to improve myself as person and a golfer. You can never stop learning.

What’s your favorite place on earth?

Kapurthala

What irritates you most about people?

Arrogance and ignorance. They go hand in hand.

Who are the people who have inspired you in life?

Mr. Milkha Singh and my parents. They have shown that despite the odds being against you, if you work hard and are diligent, the rewards will always be good.

What is the word/phrase you overuse the most?

“Partner.”

If you could live someone else’s life for a day, whose would it be?

Narendra Modi. We needed a Prime Minister like him, who works for the people — his work ethic is remarkable.

What are your fears?

Never being able to play golf again. My life has revolved around the game.

An overrated virtue, according to you?

Humility.

What makes you happy?

Competing every week at a new golf course.

What are your favourite memories?

Picking up my first golf club. It felt like the right thing at that point in time, and it has made me happy ever since. Also, winning the Asian Games Team Silver medal.

What’s your best piece of advice?

Do what you have to. You get one shot at life. Never give yourself a moment of “What if..”

Your favorite meal?

Chicken Thai curry with steamed rice.

A movie you can watch over and over?

The Pursuit of Happyness
