Swatch’s three new collections, timed well in advance of the coming gifting season, tell the “ stories of an ancient past and a faraway future, proving that reinvention is the best form of innovation while triggering both imagination and senses.’’ 

Called Worldhood, Think Fun and Deep Wonder, the collections follow distinct themes. “The three different themes link urban trends with local handcraft, bright colours with simple designs and understated style with statement pieces, adding up to a powerful selection that proves to be as playful, colourful and joyful as ever,” the brand says, in a statement. 

“In an ever-connected world, distance is shortened to a tap away. The world is your neighbourhood, a phenomenon that Worldhood puts on the wrist in many different ways: inspirations from all over the globe have found their place in this collection, where fantasy becomes reality, well-known ideas mix with new states of mind, and art is in cahoots with handcraft,” according to the statement.

World-famous museums have opened their archives for these seemingly knitted watches which are a contemporary wink to one’s heritage. Black-and-white models focus on the raw and substantial design, adding the story of the brand and sophisticated brushing techniques. Swatch’s most notable creative collaboration for this range is with Rijksmuseum, the Dutch national museum dedicated to arts and history in Amsterdam. Watches in this collection take their inspiration from historic paintings in the museum’s well known collection. 

Think Fun, on the other hand, embodies the motto ‘more colour, more fun, more fantasy.’ According to the watchmaker, it represents the company’s DNA, where colours, shapes and stripes explode into vibrant designs. Bold styles have been married to simplistic geometries while shiny crystals set a glamorous tone on discreet-coloured pieces. Pins and patches slot in neatly on denim looks to spring up pleasant surprises. 

The Swiss watchmaker also rolls out the red carpet (with a lot of confetti) for Deep Wonder that shines ‘with intensity and shades glitter into the night.’ With lavish colour palettes, alcantara materials and sparkling crystals, bring your bling on this season.
