Koenigsegg Bares It All With Their New Naked Carbon Fiber Regera

Totally something Bruce Wayne would own

Koenigsegg introduced a 1,500 hp powerhouse called the Regera over a year ago. And now, the Swedish carmaker has unleashed an iteration of the hypercar by giving it a naked carbon treatment.

The Koenigsegg Carbon Fiber is a full-body naked hypercar that is weaved in carbon fiber, making it lighter, stronger and faster than the original Regera. The car isn’t just simply covered in carbon fiber, but has actually been put through a meticulous and time-consuming hand polishing technique to absolutely rid the exterior of lacquer and varnish.

Elements of carbon fiber in parts like spoilers and winglets have been done before, but this is the first time the carmaker is wrapping the whole car in it. Not only the exteriors, but even the interiors including the engine is covered in the ultra-light carbon fiber material.

But why would they want to cover a car inside and out in a material like carbon fiber? Well, because the material is lighter, so it automatically makes the car faster. In the case of the KNC Regera, the car sheds almost 20 kgs. The material is also much more durable than normal paint, so it is resistant to scratches and dents.

Looking under the hood, you’ll find a 5.0 litre twin turbo V8 internal combustion engine that produces 2,000 Nm of torque.

Koenigsegg CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg said, “The Koenigsegg philosophy has always been about exploring extremes. It’s great to extend that idea to a whole new way of finishing and presenting a car.”

The KNC Regera is already resting in the garage of its first Swedish customer, but will officially go on sale via their Swiss dealer, Carage, after the Geneva Auto Show in March 2019.
