Porsche has added two new high-performance models to its mid-engine sportscar portfolio — the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 and the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0. The Cayman carries a price tag of Rs 1.46 crore, while the latter is priced at Rs 1.50 crore (ex-showroom, India).

Powering the GTS twins is a 4.0-litre, naturally aspirated, flat-six petrol engine that can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox. On the topic of numbers, the engine delivers 400hp and 420Nm of peak torque, but when mated to the auto gearbox, torque output goes up to 430Nm. According to Porsche, 0 to 100kph is covered in 4.5 seconds, while the top speed is at 293kph.

Porsche has added a GTS-spec front apron with larger air inlets, compared to the standard cars, on both models. At the rear, there are stainless steel tailpipes with a glossy black finish. The GTS models ride on 20-inch black alloy wheels. You can also spot GTS 4.0 badges on the body to tell these twins apart from the other models.

When it comes to features, the list includes the carmaker’s Active Suspension Management damping system that lowers the ride height by 20mm (30mm on the GT4), as well mechanical rear differential with torque vectoring. The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake is available as an option. Other features on the 718 GTS 4.0 are TPMS, six-piston and four-piston aluminum brake callipers (at the front and rear), powered parking brake and adaptive cylinder management.

Getting into the Porsche GTS 4.0 twins, you’ll see the use of Race-Tex microfiber upholstery in the cockpit. Other cool touches are the GT sports steering wheel, the sports seats, 7.0-inch infotainment system, Sport Chrono Package, and the eight-speaker sound system.

Porsche’s other recent launches in India include the Taycan range, the Macan and the Panamera Platinum Edition
