2022 KTM RC 390 Launched In India
The 2022 KTM RC 390 Gets A Bigger Fuel Tank, More Electronics And Revised Pricing

Mechanically, the KTM relies on the prev-gen motorcycle’s engine and delivers the same output

The all-new KTM RC 390 has been launched in India today. The pocket-sized rocket on wheels carries a price tag of Rs 3.14 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 36,000 dearer than the older model.

So, what does the additional moolah get you? The most visible update on this model is the addition of two new colour schemes — KTM Factory Racing Blue and KTM Orange. In terms of design, the folks at KTM have given the RC 390 a new headlamp and it’s one that could divide opinion.

What’s else is new on the 2022 model? There’s a new two-step adjustable handlebar and a larger 13.7-litre fuel tank, both of which come as a relief to those who have been put off by the motorcycle’s taxing riding position and impractical fuel tank capacity. Speaking of welcoming changes, it also gets a vastly improved TFT display from the 390 Adventure.

The motorcycle offers rider-friendly features such as Bluetooth connectivity and a slew of electronics upgrades like Motorcycle Traction Control, cornering ABS, Dual-Channel ABS with SUPERMOTO mode and power-assisted anti-hopping slipper clutch. KTM has also bundled in a ‘Quickshifter+ as standard fitment.

Powering the motorcycle is the same 373cc engine that makes 43.4hp of power and 37Nm of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

In a statement released by the company, Sumeet Narang, President (Probiking), Bajaj Auto Ltd said, “The fully-faired KTM RC motorcycles have a significant and growing contribution to the KTM portfolio. With this slew of upgrades, the next-gen KTM RC 390 is set to extend its lead in the premium performance motorcycle segment, bringing real racetrack-inspired DNA to the streets.”

He added, “The 2022 KTM RC 390 is equipped with class-leading electronics for racing enthusiasts to achieve better lap times. KTM Pro-XP, which currently has curated pro-experience programs for the KTM’s Street and Adventure range, will soon see the addition of an exclusive multi-city KTM RC track racing property as well. This multi-city track property will give KTM owners a platform to race and experience the true potential of the KTM RC 390 on racetracks across India.”
