Aphrodisiacs You Should Stock Up On To Prepare For Valentines Day

February 14 is right around the corner

Valentines day is just a week away and its high time you start preparing for it right now if you already haven’t. Buying gifts and flowers is just the PG-13 part of the day of love, because the real essence of Valentines day is the sex you have with your partner.

Maybe you’ve had a really busy week at work or maybe you’ve been feeling tired all the time, but this Valentines day, don’t give any excuses. Prepare for your Valentines week by adding these aphrodisiacs to your diet for the next few days:

Bananas

A perfect way to start the list, Bananas aren’t just a phallic shaped fruit, they contribute a lot more when it comes to sex. They contain bromelain, an enzyme which triggers the production of testosterone in men. The potassium and vitamin B found in them also help to elevate energy levels and is also said to intensify orgasms.

Saffron

Various studies have suggested that Saffron improves the quality of sex in both men and women when consumed. Saffron as an aphrodisiac has a rich history tied to it that dates all the way back to the time of Cleopatra. The Egyptian ruler used to apparently bathe in saffron-infused milk because of its aphrodisiac qualities. Saffron is also said to increase the sperm motility in infertile men.

Vanilla

Vanilla is a beautifully versatile food item that you can truly get creative with it. You don’t have to just limit this to food, but you can also add an extra touch by maybe getting some vanilla scented candles and filing the room up with its aroma.

Chilly

If you’re Indian, there’s nothing new we can tell you about spicy food. But yes, it is an aphrodisiac because it increases blood flow and stimulates your nerve endings making you more susceptible to pleasure.

Watermelon

This might be a little difficult to fit into your grocery bag, but do it anyway because watermelons contain citrulline, which relaxes the blood vessels and improves circulation, similar to the way Viagra makes the body react.

Honey

Honey has been associated with romance for centuries. In fact, the word ‘honeymoon’ originates from mead, a Polish alcoholic beverage which is given to the happy new bride and groom, is made from honey.

Strawberries

Strawberries have always been associated with love-making and there’s a solid reason for that. They’re packed with vitamin C, which lends a hand in the production of chemical neurotransmitters and sex hormones in the brain to increase libido.

(A Little Bit Of) Chocolate

Now this is tricky one. You must have heard that chocolate are a great aphrodisiac, but some studies have suggested that too much of chocolate could actually do the opposite and kill the mood. If taken in the right proportion, then it can do a great job. It contains the chemicals anandamide and phenylethylamine, which boost serotonin levels – the feel-good hormone. You could fuse two aphrodisiacs together and enliven the mood by maybe dipping some strawberries in chocolate and feeding it to your partner.
