The Australian Open 2018 has hit the business end, and to say that we’re awaiting the upcoming matches with bated breath, would be an understatement. Among all the Grand Slams, you can say that it’s the most fashion forward event considering everyone is allowed to wear what they feel comfortable in. In the men’s draw, Rafael Nadal is sporting a sleeveless T-shirt again after a long time. But we’ll keep that discussion for another time.

For now, let’s look at how the women have turned up for the event.

Caroline Wozniacki

The No. 2 seed has been scintillating form, losing just a set en route the quarterfinals. She even handed her opponent Magdaléna Rybáriková a bagel in the second set of her fourth round match.

Maria Sharapova

Even though she has been knocked out, Sharapova makes it to the list for being one of the all time style icons in the world of women’s tennis. We hope she does better at Wimbledon, where she had won a grand slam in her teens.

Simona Halep

The No. 1 seed is the favorite to win the tournament, even though she had an incredibly tough third round match against Lauren Davis. Halep had to save a match point, and emerged victorious (4-6, 6-4, 15-13) in a nail-biting thriller.

Angelique Kerber

The player who steamrolled Sharapova in the third round, No. 21 seed Angelique Kerber has the tennis to go all the way considering she’s a former World No. 1 and looks to be in peak form.

Elina Svitolina

Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina has had a dream run to the quarter-finals, and will be hoping to go further than that (she hasn’t ever reached the semi finals of a grand slam.) She is the winner of Brisbane International, the tournament held prior to the Australian Open.
