Netflix’s hit Action-Drama Extraction is reportedly getting a sequel.
Writer and producer Joe Russo confirmed that he is returning to the writers table to pen down the script for Extraction 2. “The deal is closed for me to write ‘Extraction 2,’ and we are in the formative stages of what the story can be,” Russo told Deadline. “We’re not committing yet to whether that story goes forward, or backward in time. We left a big loose ending that leaves question marks for the audience.”
But this isn’t surprising, since director Sam Hargrave mentioned that he had various follow-ups in mind, even before the release of the first movie, according to Digital Spy. “There have been discussions of different storylines that could take place in different times – both forward in time and backwards in time,” he said.
We still don’t have any confirmation whether Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as Tyler, but looking at the success of the film and the popularity of his character, he should likely be back. It would be interesting to see if Rudhraksh Jaiswal, who plays Ovi, comes back as well. Who knows, maybe this time Tyler could go after the drug lords that refused to pay him, and he could do it with the help of Ovi. That would definitely make for an interesting watch.
