The order for bail on Salman Khan has been reserved to Saturday with the bail hearing having concluded earlier this morning in the Jodhpur Court. It turns out that the defendant’s lawyer, Mahesh Bora was inaccurate in his estimation that arguments for the bail hearing are over and only the decision will be pronounced tomorrow.
According to the reports emerging from Rajasthan, the order on the Dabangg actor’s bail plea will be pronounced tomorrow at 10:30 am. As a result, Salman will have to spend another night at the Jodhpur Central Jail.
The Bollywood star has been locked up in the facility’s Barrack Number 2, which he has to share with sexual assault convict and self-styled godman Asaram Bapu. The two even shared dinner last night, if reports are to be believed.
The order was reportedly deferred because Judge Ravinder Kumar Joshi asked for records from previous cases judged by the Rural Court and High Court. The arguments will proceed tomorrow, and it is uncertain till what time they will extend.
Salman’s sisters Alvira and Arpita were spotted at the court at the time of the proceedings and so was his loyal bodyguard Shera. Brothers Sohail and Arbaz Khan are believed to arrive in Rajasthan later today.
The Tubelight actor was sentenced to five years by a trial court on Thursday for his involvement in a 1998 blackbuck poaching case. He’s accused of killing two blackbucks, a revered antelope species worshipped by the local Bishnoi community, in the month of October that year.
He was shooting there for the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain, along with co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam Kothari, all of who were also accused in the case. However, the court acquitted all the actors barring Salman Khan in the case.
