Punjab Kings were put into bat first by Delhi Capitals after losing the toss. Both the PBKS openers led their team from the front. KL Rahul played a captain’s knock of 61 runs off his 51 balls with the help of his two sixes and seven fours. Meanwhile, from the other end, his partner Mayank Agarwal also smashed a brilliant 69 runs off 36 deliveries, which includes his four sixes and seven fours.

Chasing a massive target, DC openers provided their team with the start that they were looking for. Shikhar Dhawan scored a match wining 92 runs with his partner Prithvi Shaw on the other end who scored 32 runs off 17 balls. Towards the end, Marcus Stoinis scored a quickie 27 off 13 balls and ensured that his team gets over the set target.
Steve Smith was included for the first time in DC’s playing eleven in their three matches that were played so far. Though the team won, but his performance was not impressive, as he scored a slow nine runs off his 12 deliveries before he gave his wicket away to PBKS’ Riley Meredith.
