After bringing iconic American jewelry brand Tiffany and Co to India, Reliance has signed up with luxury fashion house Balenciaga to bring the brand to the country, people familiar with the matter said to The Economic Times.
The iconic brand has played a significant role in shaping global fashion with modernistic silhouettes and is known for its product lines of handbags, shoes and ready to wear accessories. The Spanish brand which is owned by the Kering group is set to be launched in the upcoming Jio World Centre mall in Mumbai.
Besides cities like Madrid, the luxury brand has stores in Capri, Cannes, Berlin, London, and countries like Japan, Greece, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and the Chinese mainland. Founded in 1895 by Cristobal Balenciaga in the Basque region of Spain, Balenciaga was acquired by Kering in 2001.
