Renault’s budget hatchback makes global debut in India
Renault has just taken the covers off its new budget hatchback – the Kwid. First unveiled at the 2014 Delhi auto Expo, the car is a compact hatch through which Renault aims to see greater volumes. The car has an urban-crossover vibe, given it’s relatively high ground clearance and all the cladding that surrounds it.
Renault aims to price it around Rs 3-4 lakh. For this you get a car that can seat 5, along with a 7” screen with a Media-Nav (multimedia/navigation) system, bluetooth connectivity etc. The car is powered by a 800 cc 3-cylinder petrol engine, with a 5-speed manual powering the front while an AMT option remains on the cards.
