Taylor Swift’s “Folklore” makes it a third week at No.1 on Billboard 200 Chart, marking the first album by a woman to spend its first three weeks at No. 1 since 2018. The last time a solo female musician accomplished this was Swift’s own album “Reputation” back in 2017. “Folklore” is her eighth studio album.
After the arrival of physical copies in stores, the album has earned 136,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Aug. 13 (up 1%), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. The units comprises of album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
The album has also broken several streaming records. It now holds the Guinness World Record for the biggest opening day for an album by a female artist on Spotify. “Folklore” sold 1.3 million copies on its first day and 2 million copies in its first week globally.
