Even before its release, Sony and Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 had massive hype surrounding its release. It has been more than seven years since the original game came out in 2013 and fans were naturally excited for the sequel after the success of the almost perfect game. But all that hype paid off and TLOP 2 quickly snatched the record for the fastest Sony PlayStation 4 game to release in the UK.
The game managed to narrowly break the UK record. According to GamesIndustry, TLOP 2 beat the previous record-holder by one per cent, which also happens to be a Naughty Dog game — Uncharted 4. However, the sales chart did not include digital copies, but going from the success of the game, it won’t be a surprise if it breaks the digital records as well. TLOU 2‘s boxed launch sales are also “76% higher” than the original 2013 game.
