Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, got married to his fiancee Carrie Symonds in an intimate ceremony on Saturday. The wedding ceremony took place at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday. The Prime Minister’s office also did not confirm it until the following day. According to the media, the Westminster Cathedral was closed at 1:30 P.M on Saturday, and Symonds arrived in a limo followed by Johnson. Johnson, fifty-six years old, has married his fiancee Symonds, thirty-three years old. It was an intimate ceremony with only a handful of people were invited to the church due to the Covid 19 restrictions. The number of people that were there for the ceremony is supposed to be around thirty. The couple had announced last year that they were engaged, and their son, Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson, was born in April 2020. The couple has already decided to throw a full-fledged wedding party next year in July. They are hopeful that the situation around the United Kingdom and the world will improve and get better by then. Earlier this month, the famous newspaper, The Sun, reported that many family and friends of the couple had already received wedding invitations for the mega event in July next year.
The most shocking thing that comes out of this event is that Johnson becomes the first Prime Minister in two hundred years to get married while being in the office. Johnson’s last marriage was to Marina Wheeler, a lawyer. They had four children together but announced in September 2018 that they had separated. Only time will tell how long this marriage will last for the newlywed couple.
