Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt (is there a mononym for them yet?) are the hottest new couple in town. Everybody wants to know what the duo do individually and together. The paps can’t get enough of them and there are journalists whose careers are based on covering what they do.

So when did it begin? With most things in Bollywood, it was first mentioned on Karan Johar’s Koffee couch. On a 2014 episode of Koffee With Karan, Alia Bhatt confessed about her crush on the actor.

“I remember the first time I spoke to Ranbir. You (Karan Johar) called him up when Rockstar just released and you said, ‘Here, talk to Ranbir. Tell him how much you love him’. And I spoke so much rubbish. I was just talking non-stop, and he was like, ‘Yeah, that’s very nice, Alia’,” she said.

“Obviously, I have hung out with him after that,” Alia went on to say. “I still think he is really adorable. And I still want to marry him,” she added.

Now, with most things of this sort, there were rumours of Ranbir and Alia getting married this year. However, Bhatt had something hilarious to say about the matter.

“The only ‘Roka’ I’m going to is the restaurant in London. There’s no roka happening for me. And why are you putting a year to my marriage?” Bhatt said, according to Bollywood Shaadis.

Well, that’s that, we suppose.
