Trust Aanand L Rai to bring you stories that are entertaining, gripping and engaging. He has often set the bar high with films like Ranjhanaa, but the announcement of Atrangi Re made his fans excited about what the film-maker has to offer now. And wait, it keeps getting better. Not only does the film mark Rai’s reunion with Dhanush, the film will also see Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan in new avatars.

The much-awaited trailer of the film dropped yesterday (November 24), and became the talk of the town in no time. While the audience is upset with the fact that the film will be directly releasing on Disney+ Hotstar, there were in for a treat when they watched the trailer.

Here Is What We Liked About The Trailer:

Sara Ali Khan Can Act!

Sara Ali Khan may have had a bang on debut with Kedarnath, we all can admit that her stint in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal made everyone question her craft. However, the trailer showed us a new side of Khan. Her character is quirky, fun, full of life and Khan has mirrored that on the screen quite well. Not to mention, his chemistry with the ever-charming Dhanush is something we are growing fond of already.

Akshay Kumar Is A Non-Serious Role

Yes, yes! We all love the fact that Kumar does all these serious, action films. But no one can do comedy as good as him. While his role in the film is not a comic one, it is refreshing to see him take on a fun role. He brings in the funny element in the film and we cannot wait to see him in this avatar.

 The Plotline

Rai has always had the best stories to narrate and Atrangi Re also looks like an intriguing story. Sara Ali Khan’s character falls in love with two men, played by Akshay Kumar and Dhanush. What will she do now and who will she end up with is something we look forward to seeing in the film.

According to media reports, Khan will be appearing in a dual role in Atrangi Re. The best part? The music for the film is being composed by the legendary AR Rahman. The film is set to premiere on Disney+Hotstar on December 24. “I try to challenge myself with each and every film and bring something new to the table which the audiences can take back with them,” Rai told IANS in an interview.

“He is truly someone I can turn to for any kind of help. This year has been extremely hard for everyone. He has been there for me as a rock. On March 19, I was in Banaras shooting with him and returned to Mumbai the next day. Every third day during the lockdown, I’d tell him please take me back, I want to start shooting. Working with him has been a spectacular experience. I cannot wait to start our third schedule, hopefully very soon,” Khan had also said about working with the director.
