Fans of Kangana Ranaut’s Queen will be very glad to watch the recently released Simran trailer. She is in top form, and the film seems to be a light-hearted comedy with a lot of situational humour.

In fact, the trailer is filled with so many giggles, we can only imagine what the film would be like. There’s a cliche’d pick-up line that Kangana uses, “Are you tired? Because you are running through my mind.” The way in which Kangana delivers it is reminiscent of her performance in Queen.

The title song of the film is also peppy, and we’re sure that all the Simran’s in India will love it.

We had spoken to director Hansal Mehta about Simran a while ago, and here’s what he had to say about Kangana’s performance. “Kangana is an intense person – very professional, very focussed – and the celebrity status does not affect her professionalism and her dedication to the craft of film-making. There is always an adjustment process when you are working with someone for the first time, and we did that, and we found our comfortable, happy space. We have reached a point where now I have been calling her to discuss other stories and scripts. She discusses her scripts with me. There is a lot of mutual respect as artists. Now I want to make more films with her, because there is so much she has to give as an actor. I am excited by her as an actor. The way she has moulded the script, by contributing to the dialogues and the story, she has added a lot of value to the film,” he said.

Before this film, Hansal Mehta delivered the indie classic Shahid starring Rajkumar Rao, Citylights starring Rao again and Aligarh starring Manoj Bajpai. Which is why we have very high expectations from the film.

Also, 2017 has not been a great year with only a handful of films worth talking about, and we hope that Simran is a breath of fresh air. But we’ll only find out when the film releases.
