Deepika Padukone is the busiest actress in Bollywood, and while she is already juggling with different projects, the actress has joined forces with STXfilms, a division of Eros STX Global Corporation, for a cross-cultural romantic comedy.

The actress will essay the lead role in the film and will also be producing this venture under her Ka Productions banner. Commenting on new project, Padukone shared in a statement, “Ka Productions was founded with the aim to develop and produce purposeful content with global appeal. I’m thrilled to be partnering with STXfilms and Temple Hill Productions, who share Ka’s ambition and creative vision and look forward to bringing impactful and dynamic cross-cultural stories to the world.”

Speaking about joining hands with Padukone, Adam Fogelson, chairman, STXfilms Motion Picture Group, said in a statement, “There is a reason Deepika Padukone is one of the biggest global stars to come from India. She is enormously talented with an infectious personality and her profile continues to grow as an international superstar.”

“While she has been a phenomenal success in many Eros International films, we are thrilled to be building a romantic comedy with her and our friends at Temple Hill. We believe this project gives us the opportunity to tap into the spirit, voice, characters and vibrant settings of India and New York in ways that made Crazy Rich Asians feel so authentic and fresh,” he added.  The team has also approached Temple Hill Productions’ Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen (the Twilight franchise, The Fault in Our Stars, “Love, Simon”) to collaborate on the project as well.

Apart from this, Deepika Padukone has a bustling timetable ahead. She anticipates the arrival of the sports film ’83, alongside Ranveer Singh, who will essay the role of cricketing legend Kapil Dev. The actress will star in Shakun Batra’s untitled film with Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi. She also has a film with Prabhas and will co-star in the Hindi revamp of The Intern, alongside Amitabh Bachchan. She will also be seen in Siddharth Anand’s film Fighter, alongside Hrithik Roshan.
