Details of 2024’s sequel of Godzilla vs. Kong were kept under wraps until now. As the movie’s shooting is underway, netizens are excited to know more.
Godzilla vs. Kong is the fifth instalment in the MonsterVerse. The movie’s announcement was made early this year, with Adam Wingard donning the director’s hat, while Dan Steven joins the cast of the sequel.
Putting speculations to rest, Warner Bros, and Legendary Pictures released a statement that mentioned:
“This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”
They further disclosed details about the cast and crew members. Now, this is quite interesting to look at:
“Once again, Wingard is collaborating with the director of photography Ben Seresin (“Godzilla vs. Kong” “World War Z”), production designer Tom Hammock (“Godzilla vs. Kong” “X” “The Guest”), editor Josh Schaeffer (“Godzilla vs. Kong” “Molly’s Game”), and composer Tom Holkenborg (“Godzilla vs. Kong” “Mad Max: Fury Road”), who are now joined by costume designer Emily Seresin (“The Invisible Man” “Top of the Lake”), makeup artist Sabrina Wilson (“Captain Marvel” “The Suicide Squad” “The Book of Bobba Fett”), hairstylist Gloria Pasqua Casny (“The Tomorrow War” “Ford vs Ferrari”), and VFX supervisor Alessandro Ongaro (“The Adam Project” “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”).”
According to recent reports, the shooting is taking place at a quaint, discreet location in Queensland. The movie’s title is yet to be announced officially, but as per rumors, it is titled Origins.
The last movie that was released in 2021 had quite a ride. First, the movie faced toy leaks and then it also had a limited theatrical release due to the onset of the pandemic. But at HBO Max, it got good ratings and huge viewership. It had a stellar cast with Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown, Alexander Skarsgard and Kyle Chandler.
