The film industry woke up to saddening news today morning when Dilip Kumar’s family shared the news of his demise. The veteran actor who had been struggling with health-related issues for quite some time now, breathed his last on July 7. Dilip Kumar was admitted to the Hinduja Hospital on June 30 and passed away at the age of 98. Kumar’s close family friend, Faisal Farooqui, shared the news of his demise on Twitter.
“With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, a few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him, we return,” family friend, Farooqui, tweeted from the actor’s Twitter handle. Celebrities mourned the passing away of the legend and took to Twitter to offer condolences to the family.
Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “An institution has gone .. whenever the history of Indian Cinema will be written, it shall always be ‘before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar’. My duas for peace of his soul and the strength to the family to bear this loss” Deeply saddened.”
