Elon Musk’s Minimal Life
The revelation came during Grimes’ now-famous interview with Vanity Fair
It is very hard to keep with Elon Musk and Grimes. Soon after confirming the birth of their second child, Grimes confirmed that the couple has broken up yet again.
However, during the same Vanity Fair interview, on which the existence of Exa Dark Sideræl Musk was revealed, Grimes also shed some interesting information on Elon Musk’s day-to-day life.
Despite being the world’s richest man right now, with a net worth of $229.1 billion, Musk doesn’t seem to have an eye for fancy things and leads a very minimalistic life. His now ex-partner, Grimes was quoted as saying, “Bro does not live like a billionaire…Bro lives at times below the poverty line.”
“To the point where I was like, ‘Can we not live in a very insecure $40,000 house? Where the neighbours, like, film us, and there’s no security, and I’m eating peanut butter for eight days in a row?”
She went on to state that Musk even refused to get a new mattress because he didn’t want to spend too much money. So, why is Musk hoarding his wealth like a Dragon in a J. R. R. Tolkien book? According to Grimes, Musk is heavily investing in his many business ventures like Starlink, Hyperloop, Neuralink and his Mars colonisation project, which has taken the majority of his resources.
“People are like, ‘He’s hoarding money!’ No, he’s spending everything on [research and development],” she added.
For fans of the billionaire, this doesn’t come as news. The Tesla founder made an announcement last year about downsizing his life by selling his pricey assets. Just in July, Musk tweeted this:
Grimes claims his endeavours are “for the benefit of humanity.”
