Fans Are Calling Netflix’s New Documentary ‘Bad Vegan’ “More Shocking Than Tinder Swindler And Inventing Anna”
‘Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives’ is just one con after the other, and seems to have left ‘The Tinder Swindler’ behind
Netflix seems to be on a roll with the number of documentaries its rolling out on money-swindler and scamsters. After the The Tinder Swindler and Inventing Anna, the latest documentary to take the internet by storm is ‘Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives.’
The four-part series centres on Sarma Melngailis, former owner of popular raw food restaurants, Pure Food And Wine and One Lucky Duck, and her mysterious husband, Shane Fox aka Anthony Strangis.
In 2015, the pair disappeared after stealing nearly $2 million from the restaurant and their staff, shortly after employees accused her of not paying them.
But that’s not even half of the story. Apart from the financial fraud, Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives takes the viewer on a ride with alleged CIA plots, pet immortality and more.
Don’t believe us? Here’s what the official synopsis states: “The 2022 series revolves around a restaurateur that falls for a man who cons her out of millions after convincing her he can expand her food empire and make her beloved dog immortal — as long as she never questions his increasingly bizarre requests.”
With so much to uncover, fans have been calling flooding Twitter with their reactions, with some even calling it more shocking than the The Tinder Swindler.
