Epic Memes Break The Internet After Drake Loses $1 Million Amid Argentina’s Win At FIFA WC 2022

But, this isn’t the first mighty loss for Drake. Barely about a month ago, the Canadian rapper lost $2 million in a UFC fight

Argentina clinching the coveted FIFA 2022 World Cup was the ending that scores of people manifested this season. While fans were celebrating Messi’s big win in different parts of the world, interestingly, it now appears that Canadian rapper Drake lost in a different way — a good different, we mean. For the unversed, Drake bets on sports and athletes quite regularly. Much like most people, he also placed his bet on Argentina’s team who went into the finals with France. Even though his prediction won, the singer lost $1 million. Shocked?

Well, read on.

Drake posted a screenshot of despair on his social media, confirming the news. Apparently, he had placed his bet in the 1X2 market, and in this, the extra time given in the game isn’t considered and counted. The result of this bet is what happens at the end of 90 minutes.

As soon as the screenshot was dropped on social media, users went all out to troll Drake. Here are a few interesting ones:

But, this isn’t the first mighty loss for Drake. Just a month ago, he lost $2 million in a UFC fight. He had placed his bet on Israel Adesanya, who was against Alex Pereira, but unfortunately, the match didn’t turn his way.

Now fans call his loss, ‘the Drake curse’ — an ideology that refers to Drake transferring his bad luck to the person or the team he supports and bets on. FYI, this conspiracy theory has been limited to only athletes and sports teams so far.

Strange But True…

In 2019, when French football player Paul Pogba got clicked with Drake, he lost the FA Cup with Manchester United. It was just a few days before the match. History repeated itself when Wilfried Zaha posed with the musician, and well, Crystal Palace became the victim. They also lost the match to Manchester City. Later in the year when Layvin Kurzawa jumped on the unlucky bandwagon, and Paris Saint-Germain lost the match.

So, unsurprisingly, when Drake declared that he’d be supporting Argentina, fans were concerned as they wondered if the Drake curse would rear its ugly head again.

It now appears that Messi-ah magic thwarted the ‘Drake curse’. And everyone’s only happy.
