Five Villains We’d Love To See In The Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Sequel
Sony Pictures’ animated Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was a wild success in 2018. The film helped build a new fan base for the superhero and helped simplify the complicated Spider-Man universe for audiences. Fans were eagerly waiting for the announcement for its sequel, and now it’s finally here.
The highly-anticipated sequel is set to hit theatres on April 8, 2022. To celebrate, we thought of compiling a list of some of our favourite villains we’d like to see in the upcoming sequel. Take a look at them below:
Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat has had a long-standing frenemy relationship with Spider-Man, and Miles Morales isn’t an exception. When these two come together, it’s less fighting and more flirtatious exchanges. We don’t know if that would be suitable for a kids’ movie but we’d love to see it either way.
Crossbones is the right-hand man to Marvel supervillain Red Skull. He’s a diabolic mercenary who took on Morales in the comics. Crossbones is bound to bring some fireworks to the film.
Electro has been a constant antagonist in the Spider-Verse for a while now. He is the classic Spidey villain, so we’d only be glad to see Morales take him on.
Doctor Doom has been a constant X-Men villain for quite some time now, but Doom and Spidey have crossed each others paths in the comics. Doom is one of the most intelligent and cunning villains in the Marvel universe, so it would definitely be interesting to watch how Morales deals with him.
One of Spider-Man’s most formidable enemies, Taskmaster is not someone you’d want to take for granted. The master has an unmatched skill set in almost every form of martial arts and has the unique ability to copy his enemies attacks to be used against them. Morales would need to bring his best to take on this villain.
