Halsey has snapped back at the Recording Academy for snubbing her during this year’s Grammy nominations.

Grammy nominations were announced where Beyonce took a lead with nine nominations whereas, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and Roddy Ricch got six nominations each. The biggest snubs of the year included The Weeknd, Halsey and Selena Gomez, all of whom had out major albums that sported Billboard Hot 100.

“I’ve been thinking and wanted to choose my words carefully because a lot of people have extended sympathy and apology to me since the Grammy nominations,” Halsey posted on her Instagram stories. She continues, “The Grammys are an elusive process. It can often be about behind the scenes private performances, knowing the right people, campaigning through the grapevine, with the right handshake and ‘bribes’ that can be just ambiguous enough to pass as ‘not bribes.'”

She also added: “The Grammys are an elusive process. It can often be about behind the scenes private performances, knowing the right people, campaigning through the grapevine, with the right handshake and ‘bribes’ that can be just ambiguous enough to pass as ‘not bribes.'”

“It’s not always about the music or quality or culture,” she wrote. “While I am THRILLED for my talented friends who were recognized this year, I am hoping for more transparency or reform. But I’m sure this post will blacklist me anyway.”

The Colors singer has not been nominated in a Big Four category at the Grammys. She has received just two Grammy nominations to date, both four years ago. The singer was nominated for best pop duo/group performance for Closer, with The Chainsmokers, and album of the year as a featured artist on Justin Bieber’s Purpose.

The singer also supported The Weeknd, who is by far the biggest Grammy snub of the year. Even after the massive success of his After Hours album and record-breaking hit song Blinding Lights, the singer wasn’t given a single nomination.
