The unscripted special, Friends: The Reunion, will see lead actors Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer reunite once again and talk about the show. HBO Max, or HBO Go, are not available in India, and hence Zee5 took the initiative to stream the special episode on their streaming platform.

Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 India said in a statement, “We are extremely excited to bring ‘Friends: The Reunion’ exclusively on ZEE5 for the Indian market. Friends is amongst the world’s most watched and loved sitcoms and it is a great opportunity for us to present their reunion, something that the world has been talking about, on ZEE5 for Friends fans in India.”

Talking more about the episode, James Corden will be the host with David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai appearing in the episode.

Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, Perry, and Schwimmer will also serve as executive producers for Friends: The Reunion. They also will be reuniting with Friends creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane, executive producer Kevin Bright, and director Ben Winston for this episode.

Despite the general excitement over the upcoming Friends reunion special, co-creator Marta Kauffman wasn’t originally a fan of the idea of a reboot. She spoke at the 2016 Austin Film Festival on a panel dedicated to her beloved sitcom, explaining that the nature of the show meant that a reunion or reboot wouldn’t make sense for the plot. “The show is about that time in your life when your friends are your family,” she said.
