On Saturday, the world erupted into cheers of jubilation as Kamala Harris made history as the first-ever woman to be elected the Vice President of the United States of America but actress Mallika Sherawat had already predicted that Harris was meant for great things a long, long time ago.

Kamala Harris’ rise to the second most powerful post in the free world was predicted by none other than Bollywood’s very own Mallika Sherawat. The two of them had met at a “fancy event” in 2009 when Harris was the then-District Attorney of San Francisco.

The Viral Tweet

Soon after the Joe Biden – Kamala Harris win, a tweet posted by Mallika Sherawat went viral on social media. The tweet, posted in 2019, refers to Harris as the woman who “could be US President”.

“Having fun at a fancy event with a woman who they say could be US President, Kamala Harris. Chicks rule!” Sherawat had written in the tweet which is dated June 23, 2009.

Soon, netizens began comparing the Murder actor to Nostradamus and Ganesh Gaitonde for her remarkable foresight.

Politics of Love

Sherawat had also starred in a 2011 Hollywood film called Politics of Love, for which she took advice from Harris. “I played a Democrat volunteer who’s half-Indian, half-African-American in the film. So, Kamala told me to try to keep the character balanced, and the film to represent both sides – the Democrats and the Republicans,” the actress said, according to Times of India.

Biden-Harris win

Joe Biden is set to become the oldest President when he is inaugurated in January 2021 and will have to heal a country that has been plagued with increasing racism, police brutality, and fake news under Donald Trump’s reign as US President.

Throughout the race, Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect, Kamala Harris projected peace, togetherness, and a desire to unite a deeply polarised America.

A glass ceiling was also shattered in the US as Harris becomes the first woman, the first Black woman, the first Indian-American woman, and the first woman born of immigrant parents to become the Vice President of America.
