The first phase, Bigg Boss OTT, of what is called India’s most popular reality TV show, is all set to premiere on August 8.

There is one interesting detail about this new format that has been made known to us in a recent teaser.

According to Karan Johar, who would be hosting the show on Voot, not only is there a change in the wardrobe and the tasks as we know them, there is also a change in the way the contestants will be punished.

Now, the audience gets to decide how the contestants in the Bigg Boss house are to be punished. Although, more information on how that is going to be carried out is yet to come, but it sure is a very exciting turn of events.

Sharing the teaser on its Instagram handle, Voot wrote, “Woahhhhhhh woahhhhh Karan this is definitely crazy. OMGGGGGGGG we cannot wait. Bigg Boss OTT aa raha hai lekar some wild, crazy Over The Top entertainment 8 Aug at 8 pm only on Voot.”

A sneak peek at the setting of the show has also been posted. It features the same colourful, over the top interiors the show has come to be known for.

The confirmed contestants of the show include;

  • Akshara Singh
  • Milind Gaba
  • Divya Agarwal
  • Nishant Bhat
  • Raqesh Bapat
  • Ridhima Pandit
  • Pratik Sehajpal

The show will launch on the OTT platform ahead of its television premiere. The first six weeks of the six-month run of Bigg Boss 15 is called BB OTT. The second phase would be hosted, as it famously is, by Salman Khan.

The new format comes perfectly in time as OTT begins to gain traction in the country. The dual format ensures that the original audience is not left out, although it does proclaim a coming change in ways.
