Stop everything you’re doing – the trailer for the sixth season of Koffee With Karan is out and we are so thankful because 2018 really needed something good like this. “I’ll admit to asking all the wrong questions if you admit to loving the answers,” says Karan Johar, ever the charming host.
Koffee With Karan has been called many things (catty, bitchy, stupid etc) but nobody can deny that it’s one of the most entertaining things out there on television. Who doesn’t like celebs being their candid selves without the burden of a PR person hovering about?
In honour of that, we catalogue some of the most exciting/entertaining moments on the show:
When Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone dissed Ranbir Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor has always been super frank with her opinions and it seems to have rubbed off on Deepika Padukone as well. In one of the episodes, while discussing Ranbir, Karan asks: “So who were we talking about? Ranbir Kapoor.” When the actresses agree that they’d forgotten about the topic of discussion, KJo further asks – “Is he that easy to forget?”
Pat comes the reply from Sonam Kapoor: “Most men are.”
When Kangana Ranaut called KJo the “flagbearer of nepotism”
Everybody knows about this – even the ones who don’t follow the show. This led to such a hullaballoo in the media that the topic is still widely debated and discussed.
When Zoya Akhtar said that she’d like to experiment with Ranaut
KJo’s show is known to be super scandalous and has a huge amount of shock value (considering the conservative attitude of the country). In one of the episodes, Johar asks Akhtar who she’d like to experiment with. “Kangana Ranaut. She’s quite a hottie,” she replied.
When Sushmita Sen showed us how to love ourselves
Sen is a goddess through and through. On being asked if she had an issue with being called “just a pretty face”, Sush replied: “Oh absolutely not, I don’t mind the truth at all!”
Then there was that thing with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra
Karan: “If you could interview Priyanka Chopra, what would you ask her?”
Kareena: “Why does she have that accent?”

PC: “Where did I get my accent? Right, I think it was the same place her boyfriend gets it from.”
