BTS Photos From Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling’s ‘Barbie’ Go Viral
We can’t wait to see what Greta Gerwig’s subversive take on the beloved franchise will be like
One of the most interesting live-action features currently under production, Warner Brothers’ Barbie has been making the rounds for quite a while, and recently flared up as Aussie actor Margot Robbie was spotted making her way around the set.

Decked out in hot-pink flared trousers with a matching waistcoat and a white-pink cowboy hat, the 31-year-old was seen exiting her trailer, with what looks like a latte in hand. Ryan Gosling, who is essaying the role of Ken, was also spotted in perhaps his most unusual look so far.

Many onlookers praised the film’s costume department, who clearly know their shit.
Despite the looks on show, the film itself is set to be much less vapid than appearances suggest. A romantic comedy directed by Greta Gerwig and co-written with her filmmaker partner Noah Baumbach, the movie also stars Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Hari Nef, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, and Michael Cera.
Gerwig and Baumbach aim to carry out something quite subversive with the iconic property. Robbie herself recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, giving us an idea of what’s in store. “Something like Barbie where the IP, the name itself, people immediately have an idea of, ‘Oh, Margot is playing Barbie, I know what that is,’ but our goal is to be like, ‘Whatever you’re thinking, we’re going to give you something totally different — the thing you didn’t know you wanted.’ Now, can we truly honor the IP and the fan base and also surprise people?” she said.
Adding, “Because if we can do all that and provoke a thoughtful conversation, then we’re really firing on all cylinders.”
The film is set to release on July 21st, 2023, clashing with Christopher Nolan’s next heavyweight period film, Oppenheimer.
