We might soon get to see Jon Bernthal as Frank castle aka The Punisher and fuck up some bad guys once again.

According to notorious tipster Mikey Sutton, Marvel is seriously considering to re-produce the Punisher series with an intention of retaining the violence and goriness synonymous with Castle’s character. While Marvel does come under Disney and the obvious choice would be for the series to stream on Disney+, the studio is actually looking at Hulu or FX since Disney might not approve the explicit content.

“There has been chatter about either FX or Hulu for the Punisher to hunt and kill criminals, free from censorship. Regardless of which of the two he ends up, details have begun to emerge on where his future stands,” said Sutton.

“Marvel Studios intends to bring back Bernthal; however, it doesn’t mean the new series will follow the continuity of the Netflix program especially when the multiverse can now explain it away. Or it can they will simply not refer to it [They]would like other adult-oriented heroes to guest including Daredevil and Samuel L. Jackson in his foul-mouthed Fury, [and] the show could be called Punisher War Journal, just as the ’80s comic book.”

It is clear that Disney isn’t hesitating from okaying R-rated movies after Deadpool 3, so a Disney+ premiere for a Punisher series isn’t impossible. All we can do now is wait, and re-watch older Punisher and Daredevil episodes on Netflix.
