Lil Uzi Vert aka Symere Woods donated $90,000 to help out Raheel Ahmad, a 20-year-old political science student at Temple University, with his tuition. As a way of thanking him, Ahmad invited the rapper to his graduation ceremony.

Back in 2019, Ahmad was at the King of Prussia mall outside Philadelphia when he saw the XO Tour Llif3 artist. He pulled out his phone and documented his request for Lil Uzi Vert aka Symere Woods. Asking him to contribute to his college fund, Ahmad said, “Yo Uzi, can you pay for my college tuition?” in the video that was shared by him then.

“90 grand—I go to Temple, bro,” he continued. This made the rapper stop and reply, “90 grand? I could pay for that.” He then quickly laid out some specific conditions for the agreement. “Make sure you show me all of your transcripts, everything,” he said. “Show me all your papers and everything, and you can get $90,000 from me.” Ahmad sent all of his papers and Uzi kept his word.

Now, with a year gone by and Ahmad almost completing his graduation, he invited the rapper to his graduation ceremony. “The time has finally come,” Ahmad said in a video he recently posted on Instagram. “I’ve made it through the four years at Temple, graduating with a 3.5 GPA. I’m sure you all remember this video of me asking Lil Uzi Vert at the mall if he could help pay for my college tuition. … I come from a big family and was raised by a single, widowed mother. Finances were always a struggle. After my dad passed away, we had to live paycheck to paycheck.”

He continued, “You may not know this, Uzi, but the day that we met at King of Prussia mall on August 22nd, 2019, I was not in a good place mentally. But our one-minute interaction changed my life for the better. You have given me a sense of hope and optimism.” The graduation ceremony is set to take place on January 26 and Ahmad has invited Uzi for the celebrations, adding that “dinner with the family” is on him.
