Nicolas Cage To Play Joe Exotic In Upcoming ‘Tiger King’ TV Series
Actor Nicolas Cage has played some colourful characters throughout his career, but probably none will be like Joe Exotic. That’s right. Nicolas Cage has been roped in to portray the eccentric Joe Exotic in the Tiger King TV adaptation according to Variety.
The yet-to-be-named eight-episode series will reportedly be based on Leif Reigstad’s Texas Monthly article, “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild.” Plans for a dedicated series on Exotic started following the events of Netflix’s Tiger King, but before Exotic’s 2018 arrest for a murder-for-hire plot against his business rival, Carole Baskin. The show will showcase the events that transpired after Exotic lost his Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma to his former business partner, Jeff Lowe, and moved to Florida with his husband, Dillon Passage.
The idea of Nicolas Cage portraying Joe Exotic seems befitting. After all, Cage himself is known to own a mini-collection of exotic animals, including a pair of king cobras and pet octopus.
