R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect has struck the right chord with the audience. The story revolves around former aerospace engineer, Nambi Narayanan personal life and the work that he did for ISRO. Many are intrigued by the manner in which science and space studies have been depicted in the movie. And if that’s your jam, here is a curated list of similar Indian movies to binge watch. 

Mission Mangal 

This movie was hinged on the stories behind the team that led India to its first successful Mars Mission. It gives a sneak peek into the progress our country has made in the field of science, with a stellar cast featuring, Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi, to boot.  

Cargo 

With Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi in lead roles, Cargo is a science-drama based on Prahastha, a scientist who works in a spaceship, where dead human beings can be reborn. He’s accompanied by with a female astronaut and it’s a riot.  

Rocket Boys 

Starring Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh, as Vikram Sarabhai and Homi Bhabha respectively, this show follows the story of two ambitious men planning to create India’s first space program. But it doesn’t look as easy as it sounds. Watch it find out what happens next, because we don’t believe in spoilers.

 Tik Tik Tik 

Inspired by 1998’s Michael Bay film, Armageddon, Tik Tik Tik is about an astronaut who tries to save the Earth from an asteroid collision. Right from stealing missiles to destroying the asteroid — this movie does defy a lot of logic, but it can still be fun.

Antariksham 9000 kmph 

A space adventure movie, Antariksham 9000 kmph’s plot is based around a satellite that gets lost on the moon’s orbit. The Indian satellite, named Mahira, loses its connection and speed, and there’s only one man who can help. In this case, it’s Dev, played by Varun Tej. But he quit the station 5 years ago.  What next? Settle down with a big tub of popcorn to find out.
